Pair of Victorian Sterling Silver Brooches
Mizpah Brooch
- marked with; 'W.T.' for manufacturer, an anchor for Birmingham, the letter 'P' for 1889, and the lion passant mark for sterling silver
- constructed out of sterling silver with base metal pin
- this classic late Victorian sweetheart brooch features the word Mizpah inside of a horseshoe with the mizpah saying engraved around the word "The Lord watch between me and thee, when we are absent one from another"
- these types of brooches were given to women from their partners or "sweethearts" when they left for wars or other reasons
- the original c-hook and catch are in finicky condition, and you must pull the pin tight to have it close securely
- brooch measures 3.3cm wide and 3.5cm long
- overall good antique condition ca. 1889, with minor wear to silver and lose pin consistent with age

Horseshoe Bar Brooch
- marked with; 'RJW' for manufacturer, the lion passant sterling silver mark, crest for Chester, and the letter 'O' in a square with tapered corners cartouche, possibly 1909
- constructed of solid sterling silver
- brooch features a hand engraved horseshoe set atop 3 barbells, with one barbell missing a whole end (please see photos and video)
- there are three floral appliqués on brooch as well, one on either side of horseshoe and one in the middle
- original c-hook and pin are in perfect working order
- pin measures 4.9cm wide and 1.6cm long
- overall good antique condition circa 1890s-1900s with light wear to silver and missing one end, but still very wearable

Please Note:
Both pieces are well over 100 years old and have wear to silver, either tarnish or light scuffs and denting, consistent with age. Brooches have not been polished and are being sold in as found condition, they are not perfect.
